I’m off up tomorrow (Ha! Today actually - another late night typing…) with Claire, Freida, Andy Turner, Diff, Lukasz and others for a good trip to Orkney. We’ll either be dodging fulmars on the cliffs or dodging showers and eating Stoats bars all day back at basecamp. Fingers crossed for the former. It’s going to be cool to go for a proper trip, so long as we get some weather of course. I’ve mostly been there with Claire or just by myself and for short trips, so I’m interested to see how things

Red Rock Rendez-vous

Image from Google Posted By Liv Sansoz the 2011-03-28 La version franaise juste aprs ;) I'm currently traveling in the United States. I first flew to Las Vegas, to take part in the Red Rock Rendezvous , one of the biggest climbing festival in the USA. I have always loved climbing at the Red Rocks and this event was the perfect pretext to come back and climb on this amazing and unique sandstone. Furthermore, it was a great opportunity to meet up with friends from all over the places. Basically, the RRR allow people to take

New Phone Offers Both Cell and Satellite Service

Image from Google Travelers who frequent remote locations just got an interesting new option for staying in touch while on the go. ATT and TerreStar have teamed up to bring us a new phone called the Genus that will offer the ability to seamlessly transition off of ATT's 3G network and onto satellite service. According to this story over at the Nat Geo Adventure blog , the Genus is a smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.5 (Which doesn't make it all that "smart" at all! Ha!) that strongly resembles a Blackberry. It comes ...

Sponsors, Knee, Blacking Out

Image from Google I'm chipping (wait, bad word!) away at the Lama/Patagonia cluster and slowly learning some new information. Lama and I will hopefully Skype tomorrow, bits and pieces of other info coming in but not enough to have a real understanding of what's going on. One misconception I'd like to clear up is that Red Bull (or any sponsor) somehow tells Lama, me or any of their athletes what to do in our sports. One person posed a question in the comments about I would do if Red Bull told me to bolt a crack. The idea is,

Rock Climbing, Periods and Peeing

Image from Google April fools!? you may be thinking... But, nope. I'm actually going to hit post on this one. I kinda can't believe I am, because I've been in a "be more careful about what I say online" phase since last fall... but after another round of chats with girlfriends this week, I figured... hell. This is a climbing blog for girls, so why not actually talk about this stuff out loud. Not to mention, if I kick it off, you ladies can respond anonymously in the comments, and we may all just learn a thing or two. ...

Inner Monologue of A Guy Climbing an Offwidth At A Sport Crag

Huge Fucking Cams Who the hell is this guy walking up? I thought this was MY crag. I wonder if he knows I submitted all these routes to Mountain Project and that I organize the Piece of Shit Road Cut Crag Cleanup every year? Oh jesus. Hes wearing all cotton. Ha. What a fucking idiot. This choad is probably a gym rat who has never climbed outside. Lets see how you do without red tape to guide the way, princess. WTF?
