15-Year Old Completes 45-Foot V11 Route

This video comes to us courtesy of Climbing.com and shows 15-year old Enzo Oddo climbing the V11 Ambrosia route along the Grandpa Peabody boulder in The Buttermilks, located in Bishop, California. The route has only been climbed on four other occasions, by the likes of KevinJorgeson, Alex Honnold, and Isaac Caldiero. Joreson was the first to complete the route back in January of 2009, but didn't give it a grade at the time. Honnold followed on a year later, and rated it a V10/V11 difficulty. According to

Oddo makes 4th ascent of Ambrosia

Enzo Oddo has made the 4th ascent of kevin Jorgeson's Ambrosia on the Grandpa peabody at the Buttermilks near Bishop, California. Since Kevin's first ascent, both Alex Honnold and Isaac Caldiero have refined the method of climbing this ~14m monster of a highball. This has made the grade come down slightly from 8A+ to 8A, but what separates this from many other high boulder problems is that the climbing is difficult with big and committing moves all the way to the bitter end. According to...

Enzo Oddo, Ambrosia (v11 super-highball)

Just heard that 15-year-old French prodigy Enzo Oddo repeated Ambrosia yesterday. He must have been wanting to get it done before the bad weather moved in as it was a very windy day up there! He had previously top-roped the upper part of the line and bouldered out the start, using the same direct version that Isaac Caldiero had used on the third ascent .

So you want to move to St.George do ya?

About 5 years ago I was drawn to the endless inspiring climbing here in St.George, so I packed up my shit and moved here. 5 years later I still love it, but heed my warnings if you are considering the big move to this fucked up little town. WARNING #1! Fucked up drivers/riders If you plan on driving anywhere......forget about it! I know it's not LA traffic, but it might as well be. Fucking old men all over the road Fuckers going the wrong way in the round-a-bouts Stupid sprockets in their stupid little ...

Ambrosia -- Direct Start and Third Ascent by Isaac Caldiero

This afternoon Isaac Caldiero made the third ascent of the amazing highball/solo Ambrosia (v11) on the Grandpa Peabody at the Buttermilks. The impending stormy weather presented an extra challenge. It was a warm, but windy day with a mist of rain occasionally drifting in from the mountains to dampen aspirations. But that light intermittent rain evaporated as fast as it arrived and Isaac was motivated by the cooling of the breeze that provided conditions far better than he'd seen over the last warm week.

8b+ solo by Caldiero

Isaac Caldiero , more known as a boulderer than a route climber, has done a free solo ascent of Boone Speed's The Present , 8b+, at the Gorilla cliffs, St. George, Utah. By today's standards, it could very well pass as a highball if well padded. Like I said, it's high but not death high. Check Isaac's blog for the full story. It seems the Gorilla cliffs suit boulderers consiering Paul Robinson did the 2nd ascent of Psychedelic at the very same spot a couple of days ago. Photo: Isaac Caldiero on The ...
