And we begin... Wow!!! One month since my last post! So what have I been up to? Keep reading and find out... Blow Me Down is 1,300 feet of granite rising directly out of the Atlantic. Situated in Devils Bay, a wet and windy place indeed on the South coast of Newfoundland, Blow Me Down is several hours from the nearest road and civilisation, accessible only by boat. Like my Chad Expedition from 2010, Blow Me Down was the brain-child of Mark Synnott, a very experienced American climber and alpinist. Mark has

Posted By Liv Sansoz the 2011-03-28 La version franaise juste aprs ;) I'm currently traveling in the United States. I first flew to Las Vegas, to take part in the Red Rock Rendezvous , one of the biggest climbing festival in the USA. I have always loved climbing at the Red Rocks and this event was the perfect pretext to come back and climb on this amazing and unique sandstone. Furthermore, it was a great opportunity to meet up with friends from all over the places. Basically, the RRR allow people to take

Way back in November I wrote about a North Face sponsored expedition to the African country of Chad. The expedition sent Alex Honnold, Mark Synnott, James Pearson, and Renan Ozturk into the African wilds to climb rock towers that had never been attempted before. They brought Jimmy Chin along for the ride to take some photos, and at the time I noted how amazing the place looked. Now, it seems that film on the expedition is in the works, and it looks fantastic as well. Check out the teaser trailer for the

Today was a day that I will never forget. A few hours ago James and I stood on the summit of the Wine Bottle, one of the coolest towers I’ve ever climbed. The summit was tiny, about the size of two dinner tables, but what made it especially sweet was how deep we had to dig to get up there. Two days ago we were randomly questing across the desert, trying to find our next objective. It was actually kind of hard, not because we couldn’t find anything, but rather because there was so much to choose from.

Hello to you all, I've been a little quiet recently, and for once I have a very good reason... For the last 3 weeks I have been in the middle of the Ennedi desert, amidst a sea of sand and sandstone towers, in north eastern Chad! The expedition was part of The North Face's annual expedition program, which every year sends teams of its athletes to some of the most random and remote places in he world, in search of something magic. This adventure in particular was the brainchild of Mark Synnott and had been
