Red Rock Rendez-vous

Image from Google Posted By Liv Sansoz the 2011-03-28 La version franaise juste aprs ;) I'm currently traveling in the United States. I first flew to Las Vegas, to take part in the Red Rock Rendezvous , one of the biggest climbing festival in the USA. I have always loved climbing at the Red Rocks and this event was the perfect pretext to come back and climb on this amazing and unique sandstone. Furthermore, it was a great opportunity to meet up with friends from all over the places. Basically, the RRR allow people to take

Red Rock Rendezvous!!!

Hey All! I'm very excited to be attending the Red Rock Rendezvous on behalf of Black Diamond next weekend! I've never been to the event before, but I've heard nothing but great things. I'll be teaching several bouldering clinics throughout the weekend, so if you're interested, be sure to sign up. I'll also be doing a slideshow to benefit the Access Fund and Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Counsel at Desert Rock Sports on Thursday, March 17th at 8pm. There will be a BBQ before hand and a raffle after the show,

Red Rock Rendezvous 2010: or, in other words, WHY did I come home?

Image from Google Imagine beautiful weather, abundant climbing partners, miles and miles of beautiful rock to climb, oodles of trails to run and mountain bike, fantastic food, and generous amounts of New Belgium beer . That pretty much sums up Red Rock Rendezvous 2010. But, just in case that isn't enough, perhaps this will help. And if you still need more info to make the decision to join us in 2011, then read on. Red Rock Rendezvous is hosted annually by Mountain Gear , down in Red Rock Canyon, just outside of Las Vegas.

Vegas Gold, an Ascent of "Desert Gold" 5.13a

Made it down to Vegas for the Red Rock Rendezvous, and then afterward made it up to Desert Gold, one of the most difficult and beautiful cracks in Red Rocks.

Sunburns and Slacklining at the Red Rock Rendezvous

Our trip to the Red Rock Rendezvous began on the tarmac at DIA. And stayed there, for quite some time. Heavy winds closed down the Las Vegas airport, and we waited, and waited, and waited, for it to open. Sascha curled up on the fold-out table, and I scrunched down into the seat, propping my [...]

Off To Sin City...

Yeah, well its time for the Red Rock Rendezvous and I cant wait to get there. This weekend is going to be great. Meeting new people and checking out new climbing areas is always fun. I'm also going to be teaching some footwork clinics on Saturday and Sunday. So it looks like it's going to be a exciting event. I was a little bummed that I didn't finish Echale this week. Hopefully once I get back I'll have some more time on it before I leave for California.

Going Places.

Image from Google It's been a strange winter, but I'm starting to come out from my hibernation. Only it hasn't been hibernation... it's been a strange experience in constant motion for the last few months... very little rest, a very lot of movement, and very little of any of it within as much of my own direction or control as I've become accustomed to. The short version might be, "Shit happens." So, whatever I'd call it, here I am. I'm holed up for a couple of days in soft-water Spokane Valley, WA, in a kinda ok hotel. Work

The Road...

Image from Google It's been a difficult road back. Still I have yet to feel that snap, or that lightness. I did climb 3 v10's in the gym the other night. This brought a little smile to my face but I have still a long road ahead of me. On an other note, I will be representing Metolius at the 2010 Red Rock Rendezvous. I have never climbed around las Vegas so I'm very excited to visit a new area and attend such an event as the Red Rock Rendezvous. In addition to the Rendezvous, The Hueco Rock Rodeo is something I've been ...
