Let's face it, innovations in snow boots are few and far between. Sure, they occasionally get warmer and more comfortable, and the designs change with both function and fashion from time to time. But there is seldom any real major changes to this type of footwear, and we usually end up buying something we need, in the price range we can afford, without much consideration for anything else. Gear company Korkers is looking to change that with a new line of boots that features a truly innovative approach to

Another great running shoe from Sportiva. The sole is a very deep, undulating waffle, wave thingy. The sole is the interesting bit, it initially put me off because it differs from more trad soles but I have learned how to enjoy it. The idea is that it will bend and conform to shapes and angles in the slope and it does do this very well. The rubber is very adherent and it has a very good grip on slabby rock. I sometimes don’t take a pair off for a week, as it is a good approach shoe and good to look at.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. One of the most important aspects of any outdoor activity is keeping our feet comfortable and happy. The shoes we put on our feet can definitely make or break our adventures, which is why selecting the right pair of hiking boots is such an important and personal decision. Take for example the new Jamison boots from Bogs . If you'relooking for a great new pair of hiking boots to use in the backcountry or when high on the slopes of a mountain, than this isn't your

So I'm pretty psyched. I put the order in back in February and finally the shipment is here from France. One very large box of Andrea Boldrini climbing shoes for Upskill Climbing Gear . Andrea Boldrini shoes are crafted in France and are not well known outside Europe. In Europe however, they are very high-end, well-regarded shoes. Their hallmark is incredible performance with incredible comfort. We're stocking five of what I reckon are the best models they make and below is our review of the top of the ...

Spring is clearly in the air. The weather is warming up, the last of the winter snow is melting away, and our winter gear is going back into the closet so we can break out our warm weather equipment instead. It is most definitely time to hit the trail again, and if you're in the market for a new pair of hiking shoes, Keen has just the thing for you. Living in Texas, we don't really get much in the way of snow, so I've already had an early start on the spring hiking. Recently I've been hitting the trail ...

Keen has long been known as a manufacturer of quality outdoor footwear ranging from comfortable hiking boots to versatile water shoes to their popular, and ubiquitous, sandals. But they also happen to make a number of other offerings that are better designed for hitting the town rather than the trail, including a super comfortable new shoe that is best described as a slipper with the sole for the street. The new Howser is billed as a "sleeping bag for your feet" and that seems like a rather apt ...

The AR World Championships are seeing some championship drama even as the event draws closer to the inevitable conclusion. Yesterday when I posted an update, three teams were battling it out for the lead, with Buff Thermocool out in front, followed by Blackwater, and Team Silva/Gerber. Overnight, Silva/Gerber dropped off the pace some, while Blackwater kicked it into gear, closing the gap with Buff. But then, the veterans on Blackwater made a critical mistake that could end up costing them the race. ...

Some themes that commonly emerge when coaching movement technique with climbers. Thanks to Rick Marland for the pics from Big Rock at the weekend. The nature of climbing walls - look at the layout of the holds on modern climbing walls. In the main, setters tend to space the holds fairly evenly leading to the sort of position I’m in here, with limbs all at different levels. This makes quite pleasant continuous movement. But keep in mind that a lot of rock types have more patterned arrangements of holds;
