Another great running shoe from Sportiva. The sole is a very deep, undulating waffle, wave thingy. The sole is the interesting bit, it initially put me off because it differs from more trad soles but I have learned how to enjoy it. The idea is that it will bend and conform to shapes and angles in the slope and it does do this very well. The rubber is very adherent and it has a very good grip on slabby rock. I sometimes don’t take a pair off for a week, as it is a good approach shoe and good to look at.

I've long been a fan of La Sportiva shoes. My first rock climbing shoes were Sportivas, purchased in 1986 when I was 12 years old, and still in my garage. (No, I don't use them anymore, opting instead for the...

I recently did some editing on some quality footage that I had been hoarding from my trip to Switzerland last fall. I put together a highlight reel for Sportiva that is paired with a whole bunch of photos and an article I wrote about the good, the bad, and the beautiful in Switzerland. Check [...]

Before leaving my internship at Sportiva I worked on a project to help build some hype for the Triple Crown. The idea was to reward motivated participants with a substantial prize, 4 pairs of Sportivas, while at the same time building excitement for one of the best competitions out there.
When you get to the event [...]

Brion Voges did No More Greener Grasses (V12) at Mt. Evans in about 10 minutes... No More Greener Grasses (V12) Quite impressive. It has always been a goal of mine to do this problem. No More Greener Grasses is very pleasing to look at but a bit on the sharp side so hopefully i can get excited and stand on top of this boulder sometime in my life. On a much less impressive note, I did a project of mine from last year very quickly this year on the Dali boulder called Super Gui (V11). Its amazing what a La

I have been in Boulder all of 5 days now and it has been a very productive 120 hours. The first order of business was to finish off some old beef with a problem in Boulder Canyon called Hard Boiled (V11). We went out on Tuesday and it ended up raining on us as we got to the boulder so we had to bail. Thursday was better and good temps at dusk made the greasy granite a bit more forgiving. I'm sure you have seen a few videos of this problem by now but you haven't seen me on it so here you go... Hard Boiled

The past week has been absolutely wild. Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, New York City, Colorado... I Made a very long drive from Florida to New Jersey with a couple quick stops in between and ended up at the Gravity Brawl on Friday. The competition was very strong with a list of V12 climbers a mile long. I haven't seen a line-up like that since Nationals and the Trade Show in August. Needless to say, I climbed well and still placed 19th. I went to the city with Max and Ben and got some good
