Last weekend I had the chance to take out the UK's current rock stars, Tom Randall and Pete Whittaker, to a place in the desert which boasts a very high concentration of sandstone roof crack routes and boulder problems. The climbs vary from thin fingers to massive off-widths and can be up to 50 meters long! While yesterday may have seemed like any other ordinary Tuesday, it wasn't. It was a special day. It was the day Tom O'Halloran snagged the first repeat of my 2009 route, The Singularity . This route at my local crag took me 18 days and 67 attempts and I really poured my life into it for several months. Here is a photo that Leighan's dad, Tom, took from his Piper Super Cub yesterday around 2pm. "Climbers on 6 June, 11, about 2 PM, two groups of six nearing Denali Pass. The two lower climbers appear to be descending. From the other side I did not yet see any climbers further than Denali Pass." Here's another photo that Tom took, also about 2PM. For sure there are several AMS tents and walls in this photo. Not sure which ones, but the walls are looking pretty tight. I just got a text from Leighan's team.
