Even More World Class Ice in Bozeman?

This would give Bozeman the ability to host the 2013 Ice Climbing World Cup and provide an approved training and qualifying facility for American ice climbers looking to compete in the 2014 Sochi Olympics. CTMA Sets Everest Age Restrictions

T he China Tibet Mountaineering Association (CTMA), the organization that regulates climbing activities in Tibet, issued new regulations on June 10 that set age limitations on Mt. Everest. The decision bans climbers under the age of 18 and over 60 from climbing the world's tallest peak, which shares a border with Tibet and Nepal. The announcement comes in the aftermath of Jordan Romero's ascent of the 8848m peak from its Tibetan side at the age of 13, which sparked debate throughout the climbing community.

The UIAA has announced its support for the decision taken by the Chinese Tibet Mountaineering Association, to enforce age restrictions on those attempting the summit of Everest.


UIAA Launches Recall Database

T he International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA) recently released a new online tool that allows climbers to search for equipment recalls across the entire industry. The database, which spans recalled products from 1988 to current, is searchable by year, product name, equipment type, company and country of recall. Gear Review: Bluewater Lightning Pro 9.7 dry rope
