New route in Peak Cavern

Pitch 1 (wet 7c+) of Ring of Fire during the first ascent in Peak Cavern. All pics Triple Echo Productions. The other shoot I just finished with Triple Echo for the BBC was even weirder than the Handa adventure! The director Richard Else managed to get special permission to climb in the show cave Peak Cavern near Castleton right in the middle of the Peak District. The idea was for myself and Alan Cassidy to see if we could find a route out of it! Peak Cavern, otherwise known as 'The Devil's Arse' is one of

The Microadventures With A Dash Of Science

Image from Google Now, with only 3 days to go until I leave for Nepal; and with everything such as packing, acquiring medicine, filling out visa forms and even cleaning my boots still dirty from Lenin, still to do, I used some intuition and decided to utilise some precious time writing another truly outstanding blog. I then scrapped that idea and wrote the one below instead. Since the expedition to Lenin, fortunately I have managed to regroup, and now partly understand the reasons why the expedition wasn’t as successful

Chris Akrigg Bike Accident Video – Earl Crag Yorkshire

A few weeks ago I blogged about an old friend of mine Chris Akrigg having a bike accident. (See previous Post). Chris has just released his video of the accident. Chris is riding at an old local crag of mine Earl Crag in Yorkshire. He falls from the top of the far left buttress, [...]

Five Days Off

Image from Google Things have been getting intense on the project recently with two persistent flappers through to the bone and downhill performance. Luckily the hard stuff I wanted to get on in Yorkshire was wet so I decided to do something easier. I started off on a 7c+ called Mr Nice. This is a long cruxy little [...]

Peregrine falcons nesting out of sight at Malham Cove in the Yorkshire have produced some young but are keeping conservation experts guessing as to when and how many.
