Today was day two for my navigation team. Today we headed up fro a circuit up and over Cnicht. Weather was really pleasant throughout the day, which usually means navigation was quite easy, so I turned up the difficulty to see what the team are capable of. A strong day from everybody. After work Blair, Caff, Luke and I headed down to the Great Orme for a crank on some sport routes. I sent Night Glue (7a+) and then had a play I've Been A Bad Bad Boy (7c) which was super hard, after Luke put the clips in for

In the spring of 2010 I traveled to Nepal and made the trek to Everest Base Camp. A trip like that one requires plenty of gear, including a good pair of boots, a comfortable pack, and plenty of clothing to keep you warm at altitude. But one of the pieces of gear that I found to be the most invaluable was my SteriPEN Journey water purifier. The little electronic device allowed me to drink the local water without fear, which is both more cost effective and environmentally sound. For those not familiar with

The Outdoor Retailer Summer Market is in full swing, with lots of interesting gear on display for retail buyers and media reps in Salt Lake City, Utah. Everything from new tents and backpacks to hiking boots and GPS devices are making their debut at the show in advance of those products making their way to our favorite gear shops later this year and early 2011. Yesterday Christina , Sam and I headed to Glenmore Lodge for a DT Competition. It was to be Sam's 1st comp so a relaxed approach was taken by us but not so by a nervous Christina who was to be doing a DT Masterclass with fellow Mountain Equipment athlete Andy Turner. Sam strikes a pose just before our first route....... I've been doing DT comps since Scott Muir started them in Scotland back in 04 and they have been a help in my finding out whats possible with my axes but at the same time they are a ...

Well... Back by popular demand is Kansas, a mysterious and devious woman, caught on Blackberry video breaking into my house and taking some Crank Forearm Fuel to the face. Cranked (The Family Edition) In keeping with the spirit of complete and total anarchy in Boone, last night I gave myself half a black eye when a misjudged moon bounce back flip went totally wrong and my knee had relations with my right eye hole... Joose just came out with a new flavor: Jungle Side Note: Did anyone else bear witness to

Yesterday, amid howling wind and rainstorms, I approached my summit cave project on Mt Tibrogargan. The mountain, usually a rain magnet, seemed to have reversed its polarity and as the squalls approached, they would miraculously swing past, leaving Tibrogargan unscathed. I'd had a good few weeks leading up to this point. We had the Hawkesbury Trip which left me feeling tired and happy, then three days off, a short, very strong bouldering session and a session on my Pulpit project, then another restful few

4 days of rain in the forecast. Some rock climbing has to get done. Rendezvous at Robert's Barn for a session of thunderous proportions! Robert, Dave, Chad, Jim and I all arrived at Robert's Barn on a mission to get some cranking done. Crank up the kerosene heater and crank down some new holds! There are tons of problems in this crazy home gym. Enough to get your forearms so tired you can't even turn a doorknob. Here's a highlight of some our new holds: Squid : This hold offers new options every way that
