Expedition Updates!

With a relatively slow day on the adventure front, I wanted to post a few updates on three of my favorite expeditions that I've been following in recent months. First up, the Around The Americas Expedition continues, with the news that the Ocean Watch has now reached Puerto Rico. You may recall that this is the crew that attempting the first ever circumnavigation of the North and South American continents, and after successfully navigating the Northwest Passage earlier this summer, they have been enjoying


WTF, Nepal?!

So, for those of with whom I'm not connected on Twitter or Facebook, a little bit of news... I'm leaving for Nepal in approximately twelve -- yes, twelve -- days, to support the Expedition Hanesbrand climbing team . Since the news actually broke on Tuesday, I've gotten a deluge of support from my friends and family, and a puzzled comment or two from folks who don't know me as well. Gear Box: Great Gear From Outdoor Research

Outdoor Research is one of those outdoor gear companies that you don't hear a lot about, and yet they continually turn out high quality gear at affordable prices. Earlier this summer I was sent some of their apparel to test out, and after putting the clothing through its paces, both in Australia and the Badlands of South Dakota, I can honestly say that I'm highly impressed. Not only did the gear hold up nicely and perform well, it also looked good too. The following are some thoughts on each of the items.
