Video: Trailer For Sheffield Adventure Film Fest

Image from Google Over the last couple of years, the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival has grown into one of the premiere outdoor film events in the world. It is a top notch experience that skillfully blends adventure, travel, and extreme outdoor pursuits in a seamless fashion. This year's ShAFF will take place on March 9-12 in the U.K. and will feature more than 75 films. For a taste of what to expect at the event, check out the trailer video below.


Outside Monthly Film Series: Solitaire

Image from Google A few weeks back Outside Online hosted a very successful, and fun, online premiere for the mountaineering film Cold . The event was so well received in fact, that they have now decided to screen an independently produced documentary once a month on their website, with the second film debuting tomorrow night. ‘The Long Hope’ London Screening at the Royal Geographical Society

'The Long Hope' film poster There is a special screening of our new film 'The Long Hope' at the Royal Geographical Society in London on the 8th of February. Dave MacLeod and Andy Turner will both be giving a talk about the project and I'll be there to introduce the film. Royal Geographical Society It should be a very special night, not least because of the amazing venue. So if you live in London it would be great to see you there. Outside To Premiere Cold Online

Image from Google The mountaineering film Cold has been getting a lot of positive buzz lately, picking up awards at various festivals and earning climber/filmmaker Cory Richards recognition as one of Nat Geo's Adventurers of the Year . The film follows Richards, along with climbers Simone Moro and Dennis Urubko, as they make the first winter ascent of Gasherbrum II, an 8035 meter (26,362 ft) peak located in Pakistan, hence the title "Cold." Now, the film is set to make its online debut thanks to Outside Magazine . Tomorrow

Nik Royale is a climber and wheelchair user with progressive cerebral palsy. His biggest climbing challenge so far has been to train and put himself forward for the Mountain Leader Training (MLT) Climbing Wall Award. NG Adventure Interview and Video of Free Skier JP Auclair

Image from Google Earlier today, National Geographic Adventure posted a great interview , and an even better video, featuring free skier JP Auclair. The video was shot as part of a film entitled All.I.Can. by Sherpa Cinema and shows JP racing through the streets of three towns in British Columbia. In the interview, Auclair discusses the making of the video, the motivation behind it, and what it was like to zip through intersections, down stairs, and across snowy, and sometimes not snowy streets.
