Gear For Winter Running

Image from Google Last week we received some tips on gear for winter cycling courtesy of Gizmodo and today we have a similar list , this time for runners, from our friends over at Wend . If you're like me, and you absolutely hate to run indoors, than this nifty little gear guide will come in handy for getting ready for the long cold months ahead. Personally, I like the Wend gear guide better than the Gizmodo one because if focuses on the most important aspect of cold weather activities, namely staying warm. At the heart of

Alex Honnold On 60 Minutes

Image from Google Many of you probably caught the episode of 60 Minutes over the weekend in which rock climber Alex Honnold was profiled. If you haven't seen it yet however, you'll find the video embedded below. Watching it Sunday evening, I thought that the piece was well done, gave viewers a good look at Alex and climbing culture, and was about as solid of a piece on climbing as you'll get from the mainstream media. Of course, it was also wonderfully shot by the gang over at Sender Films , and there is a second video, ...

Super Mellow at Mellow, by Stevie Horizontal Haston

Image from Google Having a chat with Adam Ondra The day was hard, running on empty I went bouldering with a gang of lads and lasses on perfect rough granite, sat, sometimes lied in the sun, and enjoyed the company of young alive people. I interviewed the Prince of climbing Ondra for a Canadian Magazine called Gripped in the late afternoon, which was interesting for us both I think, and a pleasure rather than a trial. I said hello to lots of friends from around the world but most famously to Chris ‘Kinglines’ Sharma and

Everest Base Camp Trek day 2 - Thamel and Temples

What are they burning over on that side of the river? I asked our guide Niraj, as we entered the Pushipatinath Hindu temple complex and the clouds of sweet-smelling smoke drifted across to us. Dead bodies, he replied, matter-of-factly. Niraj went on to explain in great detail all the rituals and complex caste hierarchies encapsulated in the scene before us. How the ten stone plinths were reserved in caste-order from highest-caste right in front of the temple to lowest way off to the left, and the ...
