Sponsorship with Moon Climbing

Image from Google I have been crazy busy finishing up the manuscript for the bouldering book I am writing for Mountaineers Books so have not been able to post recently. But I wanted to announce my new sponsorship with Moon Climbing . I have never been sponsored by a climbing company before, although I had support from Powerbar a while back. I am particularly psyched to be sponsored by Moon because to me they focus on core activities in climbing and especially bouldering. The Moon website has a great deal of very useful ...

Gabri about Condé du choc

Gabriele Moroni has climbed his 3rd 9a, Toni Lamiche's Condé du choc. I asked him a few questions about it. Can you describe the route? The first boulder is at about 8A or 8A+ bloc with a very big throw from a very bad LH pinch and a RH slopey finger lock to a good edge. The dyno is ok, but the hard part is to held the huge...

the late

lately i have been kicking it in Boulder, doing the school thing and training a bunch. I have been getting on the game a bit and i feel like the line is coming together!!! I have spent five days on it and the moves are all starting to get linked together and I am hoping to try it again tomorrow! This line is by far one of the hardest things i have tried and would love to be able to piece it together for the second ascent. Besides that i have rediscoverd the training board at movement which i am really ...

Understanding how muscles adapt

Whenever I post on this blog about the nitty gritty of strength or endurance training regimens, many comments come back looking for a more detailed explanation. From my last post, in the comments we got into talking about training anaerobic endurance and effects of training generally on different muscle fibres. This is where things get tricky because muscles and complex structures, and the adaptations they make to training are also fairly complex. Picking over the surface of some details and using this to
