Climbing is growing in popularity on a daily basis, drawing in more climbers to destinations than ever before. As more climbers are drawn to the sport, and more specifically bouldering, were all going to need to learn how to manage the crowding. In my eyes, there are only two ways to deal with this explosion [...]

It has been nearly six years since I started writing this blog, and back in those early days I was still finding my voice and deciding what it exactly was that I wanted to write about. I knew that I loved travel and adventure, in all of its many forms, and I wanted to share that passion with anyone who might happen to wander by my little slice of the web. There were oh so many expeditions and travel options to be discovered along the way and continually came across a host of amazing things that I didn't

As I've mentioned before, stand-up paddling continues to grow in popularity, with more and more outdoor enthusiasts joining in on the action all the time. The sport has grown to the point that there are now major SUP competitions taking place on a regular basis, with one of the bigger ones, the Battle of the Paddle , taking place in California this past weekend. The event is a race in which the stand-up paddlers take to the water, catch a bit of surf, and use their paddles to power their way through a ...

After several weeks of hiking into Evans Area A, I was getting the approach dialed but getting less and less climbing actually done as the temperatures on the Front Range crept higher. The webcam at RMNP seemed to show that the snow was beginning to recede in earnest so I began heading to the Park instead. The snow was mostly gone where it mattered but a huge mini-glacier obscured most of the boulders east of the Gobot sector. Thus the Warm-up Boulders, The Centaur Boulder, Bush Pilot and European Human

Over the past five years Ive spent countless days bouldering around Bishop. An easy drive from southern California and warm winter temps makes this this place a bouldering mecca. I expect Ive spent more days wrestling these pebbles than anywhere else in the world. As the popularity of bouldering has increased so has the traffic [...]

On May 18, I was invited as a guest of Team Radioshack to watch the exciting finish to Stage 4 of the Tour of California in San Jose, CA. Having missed the Tour of California coming through my home town of Santa Rosa for the past few years, I was stoked to go check it out, especially from a booth right next to the finish line! Through my work with PCI , I am constantly comparing climbing to other sports in respect to their events, presentation, organization, fans, sponsors, athletes, and history. This day
