This weekend I made a quick trip to Lander. The focus of the trip was sport climbing, and we spent several days at Sinks Canyon. I am trying to climb on a rope as much as possible before it gets too cold, but that doesnt mean my interest in bouldering has waned. Sunday we went [...]

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I'm off on another escape, this time heading to the Atacama Desert in Chile. As I write this, I'm at the airport in Dallas, waiting for a connecting flight to Miami and an overnighter to Santiago. After that, it is another flight to Calama, and then an hour drive to my eventual destination of San Pedro de Atacama tomorrow morning. I'm told that there is Internet access at my hotel, so I hope to post some updates while I'm on the go, as I would hate to miss all

Daniel Woods and Dave Graham reported on 8a.nu that they both did Warrior Up, a roof problem at Wolverine Land, the newly developed area near Lincoln Lake on Mount Evans. Both note the problem as soft for the grade. A fuller report is available at the Low Down. The cooler weather will see more high-grade ascents in the coming weeks, no doubt. For my part, I am hoping my lower back and pelvis feel better fast. The timing of last Sunday's slip-and-fall could not have been worse. I took a quick trip to Chaos

Mike Janes and his whole crew headed to the bottom of ski hill today, 7800'. I heard from a couple of our guides that took a quick trip to the base of ski hill that the trail and lower glacier were in good condition. The were in base camp all day doing skills review and learning lots of the skills necessary to safely and efficiently travel on the glacier. Some of the groups go down into the crevasse when they are practicing, like in the above photo and some of them do it with out going into the crack. ...
