Semis Ive just finished the first two rounds at the ABS Nationals and so far, Ive managed to climb at the top of my game. In qualifiers yesterday, I managed to flash all 6 qualification boulders. If the semis are anything to go by, today's lead WC at Puurs, Belgium, will be won by Jain Kim and Ramon Julian Puigblanque.
Ramon has yet to fall off while Jain cruised way beyond, as in 12 holds, Alizée Dufraisse's highpoint only to fall touching the finishing jug. No great surprise as she also dominated the Asian champs last week, winning the lead and finishing 2nd in the bouldering.
Of course, this is by no means guarantees a victory in tonight's final.

The good news is that, that time I recovered within 6 weeks to travel out to Alaska on my first trip there and climb an ...

Sean McColl examines the various bouldering competition formats and discusses how he prefers the zone format scoring system.
Another reason why I like the zone is because it rewards smarter climbers rathan than always the strongest. I’ve seen very strong competitors make mistakes during qualifyers and semis and as a result, they did not make [...]
