Lochnagar

Walking up the track from Glen Muick towards Lochnagar.....wishing we had taken skis! Probably possible to ski from about 1km above the woods towards the col between Little Pap and Cuidhe Crom. The blue sky on the picture below was the only blue we saw after leaving the valley. Taken from the col by Meikle Pap the West ridge of Lochnagar appears briefly. This was the best visibiity we had and it only lasted a couple of minutes. We had hoped to post some better pictures of the cliffs today. The main profie

Japan

Image from Google A couple of years ago I had a great experience setting routes, climbing, soaking in hot springs and generally e njoying a great competition in Japan (Japan Cup). The trip was too short, but it left a hugely positive image of Japan and Japanese climbers in my head. I've been emailing and Facebooking with a few friends in Japan, my thoughts are really with them as the country reels. I made a donation to the Red Cross in honour of my friends from the Japan Ice Cup, who showed me great hospitality and life. My

Skiing Southern Utah's Backcountry

Image from Google Looking for a little distraction while you're stranded in your office today, wishing you could be playing outside instead? Then look no further than the video below, which was put together by Inspired Media Concepts and drops the "Provo Bros." into the spectacular backcountry of Southern Utah for a little skiing and snowboarding. The video is beautifully shot and captures the fun very well. Especially when the boys use helmet cams, which capture the speed and fluidity of their adventure very well. After

Happie is Very Unhappy. But Still Happy, Nonetheless.

My damned assistant stole my client base, decimating my animal care service within the span of a few short emails. Premier Pet Care, which saved my butt when I walked away from the corporate world and into the realm of starving artist back in 2001. Little did I know, at the start, that when I started climbing(in 2004), having a dog walking service would be the perfect type of business for someone who needed time away from being physically present on the job. But it sure was! When I began climbing, I was
